Knowing your audience

I really enjoyed this assignment, it let us put a personality to the name and learn a little about how each of us think and how we believe. The questions we all asked showed the type of people that we are and also showed our personalities.

One question that surprised me was Parker’s question, “What do you want to be?”, because to be honest this question for me at least, was one that I had think hard about. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. After reviewing the answers of others I decided that this question was meant to be taken deeper than just what you wanted to do as your career. Kyle’s answer that she wanted to be a memorable person was the most surprising to me. It was a memorable answer.

Lee’s question, “What do you wish to accomplish in 5 years?” had the most expected answers like I want to start my career and have children. These answers are expected because starting a career or starting something you love to do is what most people want , having children and starting a family is also expected because if you haven’t started a family or started your career by now that is what you will want in the next 5 years to come.

Knowing my audience will impact my writing by knowing the audiences personality and what they are going to find interesting and what they will not. I will be able to know what my audience is going to be looking for which in turn will make papers and my essays more interesting to them and give me better feedback and better grades.

I came to the conclusions that I did because most people just give simple answers, answers that just pop into their head. The most surprising answer was thought out and that is why I chose it. I chose the answer that people would choose a family and a career because that is the most common sense answer most people will want that.
